The Springs River Festival Committee chose the original artwork of 7 year old Gunnar Kortenbach for the 2005 Festival T-shirt design. Gunnar’s very colorful Crayola Marker drawing is full of  images of life in the River Cities, including Hook Square, the Circle and Gazebo, The Miami River and outgoing bridge, a parrot, and an airplane. Mom, Kim, says that Gunnar goes through lots of markers very quickly. They brought a couple versions of the artwork to show to the committee, including a homemade T-shirt with a transfer of a similar drawing on it. Gunnar’s design was chosen over those of two adults who also had submissions.

The 2005 T-shirts will be on sale in the weeks before the Festival. The prices will be $12 for XL, L, M, and S; $10 for Children’s size 8; and $15 for XXL.  Keep your eyes open for them, as they will go fast!
