Take your best shot at reeling in a big one, or just come on down to Canal Street and swap stories about the big one that got away. But don’t miss the annual fishing tournament sponsored by the Miami Springs Optimist Club. Registration begins Friday at 6 p.m. An adult must sign for entrants under age 18. Fishing begins at dawn Saturday. Entries can be weighed in from about 8:30 a.m. Saturday until Sunday at 12 noon. Trophies will be given for Adults and Youth (boys and girls ages 7 - 18) for Peacock Bass, Black Bass, and Bream. The Pee Wee division, for kids 6 and under, will award a rod and reel set to the top 3 finishers. Also, all divisions can compete for the largest mudfish. Entry is FREE.
