FESTIVAL INFORMATION:
The Springs River Festival is a well-known local annual festival which began in the 1970’s as the Miami River Regatta. The name has changed, but the festival continues to bring together friends and neighbors for family fun and to “catch up”. Run by local volunteers, Springs River Festival, Inc. is a non-profit organization whose proceeds benefit the local community.
The festival offers excellent Entertainment on the Festival Stage on the Circle, as well as local talent on stage in the Community Tent. There are activities for the kids, live bands, dancing, drama, comedy, and Dr. Campbell’s Pet Show.
The ever popular Silent Auction was back again in 2008. The high bidders won some incredible items, including time in an aircraft simulator, private golf lessons and an original framed 2008 Springs River Festival poster.
The 2008 theme was tied to Earth Day. T-shirts and reusable grocery tote bags had beautiful artwork by Jennifer Joensen-Webb of Smash Art Studios. A fantastic painting by Ellnora Riecken was chosen for the 2007 T-shirt. See past artwork on the 2006 Festival home page and T-shirt page. The design chosen for the 2005 Festival T-shirt was created by 7-year old Gunnar Kortenbach. Carolton Barron also created the 2004 T-shirt design.
There is always lots of food, fun and games, arts and crafts, the Cake Bake-Off, Chili Showdown, Games and Rides for the kids, Fishing Tournament, and lots more.
We’re always updating the site. Check out the 2005 Cake Bake-Off and Chili Showdown winners, as well as the Art by Kids, Youth Essay and Chess Tournament winners .
